Friday, October 10, 2008 ~ 6pm to 10pm ~ 'Rubber Side Down: the Biker Poet Anthoogy' ~ A Book Release Party with special guest J. Barrett Wolf ~ RUBBER SIDE DOWN: The Biker Poet Anthology, edited by poets Jose' (JoeGo) Gouveia, K. Peddlar Bridges, and Susan Buck, Rubber Side Down, is about motorcycles and biker lifestyle by those who ride.  It is Dedicated to Allen Ginsberg & Hunter S. Thompson for their encouragement and support of the biker poetry movement in its early years, Rubber Side Down contains poems and essays by members of the Highway Poets Motor Cycle Club and photos by Michael Lichter of Easyriders magazine fame. ~ During the book release party, there will be an informal "coffee talk" hour with poet J. Barrett Wolf (whose poems, Weather & Other Maps, and Tattoo Archeology are in the book), and other members of the Highway Poets; the reading and booksigning; and a Q&A session.  Those buying books are encouraged to also take photos with the bikers, check out the caricature or henna artists, relax with a massage, or even register to vote if you aren't already!  So come on out and hear about the horizons both behind and ahead of us, and maybe ride down the Commerce Street drag!
